Haryana’s Lokayukta has expressed its displeasure over the department of town and country planning (DTCP)’s failure to take action against the developers of Mayfield Gardens for not providing basic infrastructure like power connection to residents and for violating terms of license.
During a hearing on Monday, the Lokayukta observed that no tangible action has been initiated by the DTCP against the builders for not providing basic infrastructure to the residents, especially power, despite repeated notices. It further noted that the licensee companies continue to violate the conditions of license and provisions of statute acts in defiance of all orders of the authorities.
The president of Sheetal RWA, Dharamvir Yadav, who was present at the hearing, said, “The colony is in a complete mess due to the apathy of the DTCP. It has been directed to restrain the developers from misusing the license by registering criminal complaint against them and cancellation of their licenses before the next date of hearing on January 28, or face the consequences.”
Thereafter, two hearings were held on July 7 and August 21, where the Lokayukta made it clear that the matter appears to be serious and of grave nature as substantive action has not been taken against the developers for breaching the terms and conditions of license and not complying with the decisions taken in regard to the redress of grievances of the residents.
Despite the Lokayuta’s repeated orders, the DTCP has failed to initiate any action against the erring builders.
