CM Launches Pilot Project For E-registration Of Land Deals – Times of India – 26-Dec-2014

In a bid to curb corruption in tehsil offices, Haryana government, on Thursday, introduced a pilot project for online registration of land deals. Initially, the system was launched at eight tehsils in the district headquarters of Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Rewari, Rohtak, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal and Faridabad.

“The new system will bring about transparency in governance,” said chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Khattar said the state government would also start e-registration in all tehsil offices of the state by January 31.

Under the new system, documents for land registration have to be submitted at e-Disha centres, where the help desk will provide information regarding stamp duty and collector rates. It will provide prepared deeds using standard deed templates. The helpdesk will conduct preliminary checking of deeds using a checklist to ensure that all the related documents have been supplied.

The helpdesk will fix an appointment date of applicants with tehsildars for deed registration. After registration, registered deeds will be sent to the e-Disha Kendra in a sealed envelopes by hand. Registered deeds will be delivered the same day, between 3pm and 5pm at e-Disha centres.
